Necrostatin-7 is a Necroptosis inhibitor that does not inhibit RIP1 kinase. Necroptosis is a controlled cell death process that lacks caspase involvement and exhibits morphological characteristics similar to necrosis. Necrostatin-7 stands apart from necrostatin-1, -3, -4, and -5 in both structure and biological properties. It is believed that Necrostatin-7 might target an extra regulatory molecule in this pathway, as it effectively inhibits TNF-α-induced necroptosis in FADD-deficient human Jurkat T cells, with an EC50 value of 10.6 μM.
