Necrosis Inhibitor, IM-54 is a cell-permeable mono-indolylmaleimide compound that selectively blocks oxidative stress-induced necrotic cell death (~3 muM IM-54 prevented ~50% cell death in HL60 cells exposed to 100 muM H2O2). Does not offer protection against Etoposide induced apoptosis or display antioxidant properties. Does not affect the kinase activities of S6K1 and PKC isozymes even at concentrations as high as 50 muM.
