NDSB-256-4T is a non-detergent sulfobetaine (NDSB) that prevents protein aggregation and facilitates protein-folding, presumably by interacting with the early folding intermediates. Shown to improve the in vitro renaturation efficiency of reduced hen lysozyme and chemically unfolded tryptophan synthase β2 subunit.
