QUICK LINKS

N-ω-Propyl-L-Arginine is a potent and selective inhibitor of NOS1 (nNOS). N-ω-Propyl-L-Arginine is a competitive inhibitor of bovine NOS1 having a Ki value of 57 nM. The Ki values for NOS3 (bovine) and NOS2 (murine) are 8.5 and 180 muM, respectively. N-ω-Propyl-L-Arginine therefore exhibits 3,000-fold and 150-fold selectivity for the NOS1 (neuronal) isoform versus the NOS2 (inducible) murine and NOS3 (endothelial) bovine isoforms of NOS, respectively.
