N-Acetyl Sulfadiazine is a major metabolite of Sulfadiazine. N-Acetyl Sulfadiazine acts as an inhibitor of bacterial growth by blocking the production of folic acid, which is necessary for bacterial growth. It also inhibits the activity of several enzymes involved in the synthesis of DNA and RNA, which can lead to the death of the bacteria.
