N-Acetyl-S-(2-hydroxy-1-phenylethyl)-L-cysteine + N-Acetyl-S-(2-hydroxy-2-phenylethyl)-L-cysteine (Mixture) is a mixture of 2 regioisomer metabolites of Styrene. Both compounds are structural analogs of L-cysteine, an amino acid. These compounds are characterized by the presence of an acetyl group (N-acetyl) attached to the nitrogen atom of the cysteine molecule and a modified phenylethyl moiety attached to the sulfur atom (S-substitution). The difference between the two compounds lies in the position of the hydroxyl group (-OH) on the phenylethyl moiety, which results in slightly different chemical properties and biological activities.
