N-(3-Pyridyl)indomethacin Amide is a potent and selective reversible Cox-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) inhibitor (IC50 of 0.1 μM for human recombinant) and is about 300-fold less potent as an inhibitor of human recombinant Cox-1. N-(3-Pyridyl)indomethacin Amide is not as selective with natural ovine Cox (IC50 of 75 μM for Cox-1 and IC50 of 50 μM for Cox-2).
