SEE ALSO...

Myosin Vb Antibody (18) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Myosin Vb protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-Myosin Vb antibody (18) is available as a non-conjugated format. Myosin Vb (18) monoclonal antibody recognizes MYO5B, a crucial 1,849 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in intracellular trafficking, particularly in transporting glutamate receptors from recycling endosomes to synaptic sites, essential for synaptic plasticity and long-term potentiation. MYO5B belongs to class V unconventional myosins, which are nonfilamentous, actin-binding enzymes expressed throughout various tissues. Myosin Vb (18) antibody targets a protein whose function depends on interaction with Rab 8A, a small GTPase regulating vesicle transport, highlighting MYO5B′s importance in maintaining proper synaptic function and neuronal communication. MYO5B is also necessary for insulin-induced translocation of Glut4 in muscle cells, emphasizing its role in cellular metabolism and signaling pathways.

I am using Myosin Vb (18): sc-135995 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
