    SEE ALSO...

myomesin-1 Antibody (4F5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects myomesin-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-myomesin-1 antibody (4F5) is available as the non-conjugated format. Myomesin-1 plays a crucial role in the structural integrity of muscle fibers, as myomesin-1 is a key component of the myofibrillar M band, where myomesin-1 interacts with other important proteins such as Titin, Myosin, and Connectin. This interaction is vital for maintaining the organization and elasticity of the sarcomere, the fundamental unit of muscle contraction. The unique N-terminal domains of myomesin-1 and myomesin-2, which are predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle, contribute to the formation of a head structure that connects the Z and M bands of the sarcomere, ensuring proper muscle function and force generation. The gene encoding human myomesin-1 is located on chromosome 18p11.31-p11.32, highlighting myomesin-1′s significance in muscle biology and potential implications in muscle-related diseases.
