myomegalin Antibody (S-17) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects myomegalin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-myomegalin antibody (S-17) is available as the non-conjugated form. Myomegalin, also known as PDE4DIP (Phosphodiesterase 4D-interacting protein), CMYA2 (Cardiomyopathy-associated protein 2), or MMGL, is a 2,346 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one NBPF domain. Myomegalin (S-17) antibody localizes predominantly in the nucleus, cytoplasm, centrosome, and Golgi apparatus, which is crucial for its role in cellular signaling. Myomegalin shows high expression in both fetal and adult heart tissues, with lower expression levels found in the brain and placenta. Myomegalin functions as an anchoring protein that sequesters components of the cAMP-dependent signaling pathway to the Golgi and centrosomes, thereby regulating the dynamics of cAMP signaling, which is vital for various cellular processes including cell proliferation and differentiation. Notably, translocations in the gene encoding myomegalin have been linked to myeloproliferative disorders, a group of diseases characterized by the overproduction of blood cells. Additionally, myomegalin exists in twelve isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to its diverse functional roles in different tissues.

I am using myomegalin (S-17): sc-100921 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
