    SEE ALSO...

MYL1 Antibody (L-13) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MYL1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MYL1 antibody (L-13) is available as a non-conjugated format. MYL1, also known as Myosin light chain 3, skeletal muscle isoform, plays a crucial role in muscle contraction, particularly in fast skeletal muscle, where MYL1 is essential for the regulation of myosin activity. MYL1 protein is a hexameric ATPase motor protein composed of two heavy chains and a combination of two nonphosphorylatable alkali light chains and two phosphorylatable regulatory light chains. This unique structure allows MYL1 to interact with actin filaments, facilitating muscle contraction through ATP hydrolysis. The presence of different isoforms of MYL1, resulting from alternative splicing, highlights MYL1′s adaptability and specialization in various muscle types, which is vital for the precise control of muscle function. Understanding the dynamics of MYL1 and MYL1′s interactions with other proteins is important for elucidating the mechanisms underlying muscle contraction and potential muscle-related disorders.

Can sc-100342: MYL1 (L-13) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100342: MYL1 (L-13) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
