MYH11 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MYH11 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MYH11 antibody (G-4) is raised against full length smooth muscle myosin heavy chain of rat origin. MYH11 (G-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MYH11 protein, also known as smooth muscle myosin heavy chain, plays a crucial role in muscle contraction and cellular movement by interacting with actin filaments to generate force. This interaction is vital for various physiological processes, including vasoconstriction and gastrointestinal motility, making MYH11 an important target for studying smooth muscle function and related disorders. The structure of MYH11 consists of a hexameric assembly, which includes two heavy chain subunits and light chain subunits that can be either phosphorylatable or non-phosphorylatable. The phosphorylation state of the myosin light chain is a key regulatory mechanism for smooth muscle contraction, as modulated by calcium/calmodulin-dependent myosin light chain kinase. Understanding the structure and function of MYH11 is essential for elucidating the mechanisms underlying smooth muscle physiology and pathophysiology, as well as for developing therapeutic strategies for conditions involving smooth muscle dysfunction.
