MYCBP Antibody (2E9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MYCBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MYCBP antibody (2E9) is available as the non-conjugated format. MYCBP protein, also known as AMY-1, plays a crucial role in regulating c-Myc proto-oncogene activity, which is essential for cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. MYCBP binds to the transactivation domain of c-Myc, enhancing E-box-dependent transcription, particularly during the S phase of the cell cycle when c-Myc expression is elevated. This translocation of MYCBP from the cytoplasm to the nucleus is vital for gene regulation. Additionally, MYCBP interacts with specific proteins such as AKAP 149 and AKAP 84 within the mitochondria of somatic cells and sperm, indicating potential involvement in spermatogenesis. Furthermore, MYCBP is localized to the trans-Golgi network and the nucleus, where MYCBP associates with the high molecular weight guanine-nucleotide exchange factor BIG2, thereby coordinating ADP-ribosylation factor-mediated membrane trafficking and signaling pathways, which are critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis and function.
