SEE ALSO...

MTMR2 Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MTMR2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MTMR2 (F-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MTMR2 protein is a member of the myotubularin family, which consists of eukaryotic phosphatases that play a crucial role in lipid metabolism by hydrolyzing phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate and phosphatidylinositol (3,5)-bisphosphate, thereby regulating cellular signaling pathways. MTMR2′s importance lies in its involvement in the regulation of membrane trafficking and autophagy, processes that are vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and function. MTMR2 interacts with MTMR5, which enhances enzymatic activity and influences localization within the cell. Mutations in MTMR2 gene are linked to autosomal recessive Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 4B1, a hereditary neuropathy characterized by demyelination and reduced nerve conduction velocities, highlighting MTMR2′s significance in neurological health. MTMR2′s interactions with other family members, such as MTMR3 and MTMR4, suggest a complex network of regulatory mechanisms that are essential for proper cellular function.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-365184 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Solid MTMR2 AntibodyGreat antibody for MTMR2. Works at very low concentrations for WB (1:2500) as well as for IF, validated along side the blocking peptide. Methanol fixation/permeablization is very necessary, with PFA fixation and TX100 the antibody had a lot of non-specific punctate binding.
