MSH2 Antibody (25D12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MSH2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MSH2 antibody (25D12) is available as the non-conjugated form. MSH2 (25D12) antibody recognizes a protein that plays a crucial role in the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) system, which maintains genomic stability by correcting errors during DNA replication. Deficiencies in this repair mechanism can lead to mutation accumulation, significantly increasing the risk of various cancers, including hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC). MSH2 (25D12) monoclonal antibody targets a protein associated with microsatellite instability, a hallmark of many tumors, indicating MSH2′s vital role in hereditary cancer predisposition and broader tumorigenesis. Mutations in MSH2 and its homologs, such as MLH1, PMS1, and PMS2, in various cancers highlight MSH2′s critical function in cancer biology and potential as a therapeutic target.
