    SEE ALSO...

MRP-S25 Antibody (LB-L4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP-S25 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MRP-S25 antibody (LB-L4) is available as the non-conjugated format. MRP-S25, also known as mitochondrial ribosomal protein S25 or S25mt, is a crucial component of the mitochondrial ribosome, specifically found in the 28S subunit. This 173 amino acid protein plays a vital role in mitochondrial protein synthesis, which is essential for the proper functioning of mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cell. MRP-S25 localization within the mitochondria underscores its importance in the translation of mitochondrial mRNA, which encodes proteins necessary for oxidative phosphorylation and energy production. Given that mitochondrial dysfunction is implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic syndromes, studying MRP-S25 and its interactions is critical for understanding mitochondrial biology and potential therapeutic targets.

Hi, is this the same as any other RPS25 protein? What’s the difference between MRPS25 and RPS25?

    Asked by: Stephy97
Thank you for your question. MRP-S25 Antibody (LB-L4): sc-134393 was raised against recombinant MRP-S25, which is the mitochondrial 40S ribosomal protein S25 protein of human origin (protein accession No. P82663). RPS25 is 40S ribosomal protein S25 (not mitochondrial; protein accession No. P62851). Please contact our technical service directly if you have further questions.

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with MRP-S25 (LB-L4): sc-134393 antibody?

    Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. We recommend this antibody for use in denatured Western Blot conditions. It has not been validated for use in non-denatured conditions. Please contact our Technical Service Department for further details or inquiries.
