Monosultap is an important reagent in organic and inorganic chemistry, and has a wide range of uses in both industrial and laboratory applications. It is employed in the preparation of metal complexes, catalysts, photographic chemicals, dyes, inks, and paints. Monosultap acts as an oxidizing agent and is used to catalyze a variety of oxidation reactions. In particular, it catalyzes the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to aldehydes and ketones, respectively. Monosultap can also catalyze the oxidation of aldehydes and ketones to carboxylic acids.
