Monobutyl phthalate acyl-|A-D-glucuronide (MBPAG) is a substance produced in the liver when monobutyl phthalate (MBP), a commonly used plasticizer in various consumer products, combines with glucuronic acid. MBPAG is then eliminated through urine. MBP has been proven to disrupt the endocrine system and has been linked to harmful health effects such as reproductive and developmental toxicity. MBPAG is recognized as a potential biomarker for assessing exposure to MBP and its associated toxicity. The levels of Monobutyl Phthalate Acyl-|A-D-glucuronide found in urine have been shown to correspond with MBP exposure levels, enabling the assessment of the extent of exposure. Additionally, MBPAG has been utilized to investigate the mechanisms of MBP toxicity and to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions designed to reduce MBP exposure. This substance appears as a solid, ranging from white to pale yellow, and can be dissolved in DMSO and Methanol.
