MMS19 Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MMS19 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MMS19 (G-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MMS19, also known as MMS19 nucleotide excision repair homolog or MET18, is a crucial 1,030 amino acid nuclear protein characterized by seven HEAT repeats and belonging to the MET18/MMS19 family. MMS19 plays a vital role in nucleotide excision repair (NER) and RNA polymerase II transcription through interactions with TFIIH p80 and TFIIH p89 helicases, which are essential for maintaining genomic stability and proper gene expression. Additionally, MMS19 may act as a transcriptional coactivator of the estrogen receptor, highlighting its importance in cellular signaling pathways. While MMS19 is ubiquitously expressed, MMS19 is found at the highest levels in the testis, indicating a potential role in reproductive biology. The gene encoding MMS19 is located on human chromosome 10q24.1 and has been associated with an increased risk of pancreatic cancer, underscoring its significance in cancer research. Notably, at least five distinct isoforms of MMS19 exist due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to its diverse functional roles in cellular processes.
