QUICK LINKS

ML-7 may act to inhibit Ca2+ dependent and independent smooth muscle MYLK (myosin light chain kinases) via competitive inhibition of ATP and also inhibits PKC and PKA. This compound also inhibits cell transporters activated by shrinkage and affects the osmotic volume regulation of cells. Mechanistic studies suggest that this is done via stimulation of K-CL cotransport, a cell volume regulating agent. ML-7 has also been reported to affect the superoxide O2--producing system of human neutrophils in a myosin light chain kinase independent manner.
