MKS1 Antibody (HYB330-01) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MKS1 protein of Arabidopsis thaliana origin by western blotting (WB). MKS1, also known as MAP kinase substrate 1, plays a crucial role in plant defense mechanisms, particularly in activating salicylic acid-dependent pathways that enhance disease resistance. This 222 amino acid protein, with an isoelectric point of 6.0, is specifically phosphorylated by MAPK4, a mitogen-activated protein kinase that regulates various cellular activities, including gene expression and cell survival. MKS1 interaction with MAPK4 facilitates MAPK4 binding to WRKY transcription factors, which are essential for transcriptional regulation of defense responses against pathogens.
