SEE ALSO...

MIP-5 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects MIP-5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MIP-5 (A-12) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. MIP-5, also known as HCC-2, is a member of the C-C chemokine subfamily, which plays a crucial role in the immune response by acting as a chemoattractant for monocytes and T cells. MIP-5 is primarily expressed in the gut and liver, highlighting its importance in local immune responses and inflammation within these tissues. The structure of MIP-5, characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues, is essential for function, as these allow for the formation of disulfide bonds that stabilize MIP-5 and facilitate interaction with specific receptors on target cells. This structural integrity enables effective signaling and recruitment of immune cells, making MIP-5 a key player in the regulation of inflammatory processes.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398069 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
