QUICK LINKS

(−)-Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) is a strong polyphenol catechin antioxidant found in green tea, reported to have broad efficacy against many conditions generated from oxidative damage. Extensive oxidation of low density lipoproteins (LDL) is correlated to cardiovascular diseases, and (−)-Epigallocatechin Gallate is reported to strongly inhibit Cu(2+)-mediated oxidative modification of LDLs. The antiapoptotic proteins Bcl-2 and Bcl-x(L) are observed to suppress apoptosis and convey survival to heavily damaged and mutated cells, and (−)-Epigallocatechin Gallate (along with the other catechins) is shown to directly inhibit these proteins, reestablishing the normal apoptotic pathway in the cell. (−)-Epigallocatechin Gallate also inhibits NOS2 (iNOS).

I have dissolved EGCG in DMSO at 10µM. What storage temperature do you recommend, and for how long time?

Asked by: Falkern
Thank you for your question. For long term storage we recommend -20 º C. However, it may be stored short term at + 4 º C. It may be fine to store sc-200802 at -70ºC, but this has not been tested in house. Most important is to store dry and away from light, and to avoid multiple thaw and freeze cycles. We do not have a time frame for how long it can remain stored as we suggest to use as soon as possible.
