QUICK LINKS

Milrinone, a well-established phosphodiesterase-3 inhibitor. By acting as a phosphodiesterase-3 inhibitor, milrinone effectively impedes the breakdown of cAMP by the enzyme phosphodiesterase-3. Consequently, this inhibition results in elevated levels of cAMP within cells. Which subsequently leads to heightened intracellular calcium levels and increased activity of other vital signaling molecules.
