QUICK LINKS

Miconazole is an antifungal agent with good CYP19 (aromatase) inhibitory activity. Miconazole was discovered to be an effective chemopreventive agent in a mammary cancer cell model. Miconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol (critical component of fungal cell membranes). It can also be used against certain species of Leishmania protozoa.
