Methyl Acrylate is a precursor in the synthesis of adipic acid an intermediate in the production of nylon-66. Methyl acrylate is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C4H6O2. It is an ester of acrylic acid and is classified as an acrylate. Methyl acrylate is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor. It is highly flammable and readily evaporates.
