    SEE ALSO...

Metal ABC transporter substrate-binding lipoprotein Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Metal ABC transporter substrate-binding lipoprotein of S. equi origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Metal ABC transporter substrate-binding lipoprotein antibody (G-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Metal ABC transporter substrate-binding lipoprotein plays a crucial role in the transport of essential metal ions across the bacterial cell membrane, which is vital for the survival and pathogenicity of Streptococcus equi. Metal ABC transporter substrate-binding lipoprotein is involved in the uptake of metal substrates that are necessary for various cellular processes, including enzyme function and metabolic pathways. Understanding Metal ABC transporter substrate-binding lipoprotein function can provide insights into the mechanisms of bacterial virulence and potential therapeutic targets for treating infections caused by S. equi. Streptococcus is a large genus of Gram-positive bacteria comprising over 50 different species, classified into alpha, beta, or gamma hemolytic groups based on their hemolytic properties. S. equi, specifically, is an equine host-adapted pathogen responsible for strangles, a highly contagious disease characterized by tonsillitis and lymphadenitis of the head and neck, with symptoms such as fever, depression, and lymph node enlargement that can lead to respiratory distress. The infection is transmitted through inhalation of S. equi or direct contact with mucopurulent discharge from infected animals.
