MES potassium salt (MES-K) is a reagent used in cytochrome c kinetics and reduction studies, and in the analysis of quinine content in different samples. It is a zwitterionic buffer used to maintain a stable pH in aqueous solutions. It is employed for many biochemical and physiological processes, such as protein purification, enzyme kinetics, and cell culture. MES potassium salt is also used as a buffering agent for electrophoresis and chromatography, as well as the preparation of DNA, RNA, and protein samples for sequencing and structural analysis. Useful pH range: 5.5 - 6.7.
