Melamine-13C3,15N3 is an important component of many plastics, resins, and adhesives, and is used as a flame retardant and in the production of melamine foam. It is also used in the production of fertilizers, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals. In addition, Melamine-13C3,15N3 has been used in the laboratory for the synthesis of a variety of compounds, such as dyes, catalysts, and drugs. It works by inhibiting the activity of enzymes involved in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. It is also believed to interfere with the activity of the enzyme choline acetyltransferase, which is involved in the synthesis of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter.
