MEF-2D Antibody (9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects myocyte enhancer factor-2D (MEF-2D) in mouse, rat, human, and canine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). MEF-2D plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression during muscle cell differentiation, as MEF-2D is a member of the MEF-2 family of transcription factors that bind to specific DNA sequences in promoter regions of target genes. MEF-2D (9) antibody recognizes a protein primarily located in the nucleus, where MEF-2D interacts with various corepressors and co-activators to modulate muscle-specific gene transcription, thereby influencing muscle development and function. MEF-2D′s ability to form homo- and heterodimers with other MEF-2 family members allows for a complex regulatory network essential for proper muscle differentiation and function. Understanding MEF-2D dynamics and interactions is vital, as dysregulation can lead to muscle-related diseases and developmental disorders. Anti-MEF-2D antibody (9) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying muscle biology and transcriptional regulation.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with MEF-2D (9): sc-136196 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10ºC methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
