Med10 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Med10 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Med10 (C-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Med10, also known as Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 10, is a crucial component of the mediator complex, which plays a vital role in the regulation of transcription for Pol II-dependent genes. This complex acts as a bridge, facilitating communication between gene-specific regulatory proteins and the basal Pol II transcription machinery, thereby ensuring precise gene expression. Med10, a 135 amino acid nuclear protein, is integral to the middle domain of the mediator complex and is essential for the assembly of a functional pre-initiation complex with Pol II and other general transcription factors. Notably, reduced Med10 levels within cells enhance Wnt and Nodal signaling pathways, highlighting Med10′s importance in developmental processes and cellular signaling. Furthermore, in yeast, mutations in the gene encoding Med10, along with other middle domain components, result in increased transcription of wild-type heat-shock genes, underscoring Med10′s role in stress response and transcriptional regulation.
