    SEE ALSO...

Measles H Antibody (6017) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Measles H protein in human and monkey species through immunofluorescence (IF) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. Anti-Measles H antibody (6017) is available as a non-conjugated format, specifically targeting the hemagglutinin glycoprotein of the Measles virus, a highly contagious paramyxovirus responsible for severe respiratory illness. Measles H protein plays a crucial role in viral attachment and host cell entry, facilitating infection and subsequent viral replication. Measles H protein interacts with cellular receptors, which is essential for viral pathogenicity, allowing viral evasion of host immune response and establishment of infection. Understanding Measles H protein function is vital for developing effective vaccines and therapeutic strategies against measles, particularly given the resurgence of this preventable disease in various regions. Measles virus, known for causing serious complications such as pneumonia and encephalitis, relies on hemagglutinin protein for infectivity, making Measles H protein a significant target for research and clinical diagnostics.

Hi there, do you recommend to use these antibodies for the wester blot? thanks

    Asked by: Eltor
Thank you for your question. Anti-Measles H Antibody (6017): sc-517542 is only recommended for detection of measles hemagglutinin by IF ELISA. We do not recommend it for western blots.

Where in the H-antigen is the epitope of this antibody located ?

    Asked by: Sigurd
Thank you for your question. Measles H Antibody (6017): sc-517542 has been raised against the Edmonston strain of Measles virus origin. The exact epitope of this antibody has not yet been determined, so the binding site of the antibody on its target protein is not known.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It does not work for ELISA eitherI had issues with detecting my protein. it does not work and causes background! not happy with this antibody and expected better products from Santa Cruz. I used it for IF ELISA and Westernblot ! used other antibodies to compare and for sure this antibody did not work!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad antibodyI bought this a few weeks back. This antibody does not work. It binds to non-specific antigens giving a very high background in immunofluorescence.
