Mdr-3 Antibody (P3-II-26) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody raised against amino acids 629-692 of Mdr-3 of human origin and is recommended for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Mdr-3 monoclonal antibody (P3-II-26) is available as a non-conjugated anti-Mdr-3 antibody, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this important protein. Mdr-3, also known as ABCB4, plays a crucial role in the transport of phospholipids and other molecules across cellular membranes, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and lipid metabolism. ABCB4 function is particularly significant in the liver, where ABCB4 contributes to the secretion of bile acids and phospholipids, thereby influencing digestion and absorption of dietary fats. ABCB4 is localized to the canalicular membrane of hepatocytes, where ABCB4 facilitates the export of phosphatidylcholine into bile, protecting bile ducts from the detergent effects of bile acids. This localization underscores the essential role of ABCB4 in bile composition and the prevention of cholestatic liver diseases. Dysregulation of ABCB4 can lead to various liver diseases and has been implicated in the development of drug resistance in cancer, making ABCB4 a key target for therapeutic intervention. Anti-Mdr-3 antibody (P3-II-26) enables researchers to gain insights into the mechanisms of multidrug resistance and the physiological roles of this essential protein.
