Datasheets
  • MCT4 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ, cited in 12 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 376-465 mapping within a C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of MCT4 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of MCT4 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • See MCT4 (D-1): sc-376140 for MCT4 antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for MCT4 Antibody (G-7) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with MCT4 Antibody (G-7) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

MCT4 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect Monocarboxylate Transporter 4 (MCT4) in mouse, rat, and human species across various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MCT4 antibody (G-7) specifically targets amino acids 376-465 within the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of human MCT4, ensuring precise binding and reliable detection. MCT4 is a member of the solute carrier 16A (SLC16A) family of proteins, and is an integral membrane protein predominantly localized to the plasma membrane. MCT4 plays a crucial role in transporting lactate and other monocarboxylates out of cells, maintaining intracellular pH balance and enabling sustained glycolysis, particularly in highly glycolytic tissues such as skeletal muscle and cancer cells exhibiting the Warburg effect. Structurally, MCT4 consists of 10-12 transmembrane-helical domains with both amino and carboxy termini located in the cytoplasm, facilitating function as a proton symporter. MCT4 undergoes post-translational modifications, notably N-glycosylation, which are essential for proper folding, stability, and trafficking to the plasma membrane. These modifications ensure functional integrity of MCT4, allowing efficient lactate export and contribution to cellular metabolism and survival under anaerobic conditions. Strategic localization and structural integrity of MCT4 make this protein a key player in metabolic flexibility and a significant target for research into cancer metabolism and other diseases characterized by altered lactate transport. MCT4 (G-7) antibody is available in non-conjugated form, providing versatility for diverse experimental setups. Anti-MCT4 antibody (G-7) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying expression, localization, post-translational modifications, and functional roles of MCT4 in various physiological and pathological contexts, facilitating advancements in understanding cellular metabolism and developing potential therapeutic interventions.

I am using MCT4 (G-7): sc-376465 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: TinTin
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
