MCFD2 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MCFD2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCFD2 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Multiple coagulation factor deficiency protein 2 (MCFD2) plays a crucial role in protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus, localizing in the endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment (ERGIC) through a direct, calcium-dependent interaction with LMAN1. MCFD2-LMAN1 complex acts as a specific cargo receptor, ensuring efficient transport of selected proteins necessary for various cellular functions, including those involved in blood coagulation. Mutations in MCFD2 can lead to factor V and factor VIII combined deficiency (F5F8D), an autosomal recessive bleeding disorder characterized by significant reduction in both clotting proteins, highlighting MCFD2′s importance in maintaining hemostatic balance.
