MCC950 sodium is a small molecule that inhibits the NLRP3 inflammasome, a player in controlling inflammation. NLRP3 is an intracellular protein complex pivotal in managing inflammation. Upon activation, NLRP3 forms an inflammasome, which in turn initiates the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. MCC950 sodium interrupts the activation of NLRP3, thus stopping the inflammasome formation and subsequently diminishing inflammation.
