SEE ALSO...

MAFbx Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MAFbx protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAFbx (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Muscle atrophy F-box (MAFbx) functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, playing a critical role in protein degradation regulation through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, which is essential for muscle homeostasis. MAFbx expression increases in cardiac and skeletal muscle tissues undergoing atrophy, with activity linked to key muscle protein degradation. MAFbx promotes ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of MyoD, a crucial transcription factor for muscle differentiation, thereby influencing muscle development and regeneration. Studies with MAFbx knockout mice demonstrate resistance to muscle atrophy, highlighting MAFbx′s pivotal role in muscle mass regulation. Anti-MAFbx antibody (F-9) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying muscle biology, atrophy mechanisms, and signaling pathways involved in muscle maintenance and differentiation.
