QUICK LINKS

m-3M3FBS is the active compound 2,4,6-trimethyl-N-(meta-3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-benzenesulfonamide. This agent may act to stimulate calcium concentration increase in neutrophils by directly activating phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC). Experiments suggest that m-3M3FBS is capable of inhibiting growth of certain cell lines and causes chromatin condensation as well as DNA fragmentation. Furthermore, m-3M3FBS-induced apoptosis was correlated to up-regulation of pro-apoptotic Bax, down-regulation of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2, caspase activation, and release of Cytochrome c.
