QUICK LINKS

Lyso-PAF C-16 is a metabolite of the platelet-activating factor (PAF) (sc-200516) and has been used to study PAF synthesis. PAF is known to activate inflammatory cells and platelets. It has been reported that the activity of a coenzyme A-independent transacylase generates lyso-PAF, which can be turned into PAF after it is acetylated. Research suggest that both PAF and lyso-PAF may have antimicrobial properties in vitro, against gram-positive bacteria.
