    SEE ALSO...

Ly-6H Antibody (MN-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ly-6H protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ly-6H antibody (MN-7) is available as a non-conjugated format. Ly-6H protein, also known as NMLY6, is a 140 amino acid lipid-anchored membrane protein that plays a crucial role in T lymphocyte activation, making Ly-6H essential for the adaptive immune response. Ly-6H protein is highly expressed in the brain, with lower levels found in the pancreas, testis, colon, and small intestine, indicating significant involvement in immune functions within the central nervous system. Unique expression patterns of Ly-6H during hematopoiesis, from multipotential stem cells to lineage-committed precursor cells, highlight Ly-6H protein′s importance in the development and differentiation of immune cells. Overexpression of Ly-6H in certain acute human leukemic cell lines, such as MOLT-3, suggests a potential role in carcinogenesis, making Ly-6H protein a valuable target for research in cancer biology.

Can sc-100285: Ly-6H (MN-7) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100285: Ly-6H (MN-7) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
