    SEE ALSO...

Ly-49 Antibody (14B11) is a hamster monoclonal IgG antibody that detects the Ly-49 protein of mouse origin by flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Ly-49 antibody (14B11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Ly-49 protein plays a crucial role in the regulation of natural killer (NK) cell activity, which is essential for the immune response against tumors and virally infected cells. Specifically, Ly-49 proteins are part of the C-type lectin superfamily and function as receptors that recognize class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, allowing NK cells to distinguish between healthy and abnormal cells. Ly-49′s ability to form homodimers enhances its capacity to mediate inhibitory signals, thereby preventing the activation of NK cells against normal cells while allowing for the targeting of stressed or transformed cells. With at least 21 known isoforms, each varying in length from 230 to 280 amino acids, the diversity of Ly-49 proteins contributes to the complexity of immune regulation, making anti-Ly-49 antibody (14B11) an invaluable tool for researchers studying NK cell biology and immune responses in mouse models.

How can Ly-49 (14B11): sc-53022 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

    Asked by: AbPolly
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-53022 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-53022 FITC).
