LTA4H Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LTA4H protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LTA4H Antibody (D-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LTA4H, or Leukotriene A4-hydrolase, plays a crucial role in the metabolism of leukotrienes, which are bioactive lipids derived from arachidonic acid that are essential for mediating inflammatory responses and host defense mechanisms. Located primarily in the cytosol, LTA4H is a zinc-dependent enzyme that exhibits both epoxide hydrolase and aminopeptidase activities. LTA4H epoxide hydrolase function is particularly significant as LTA4H catalyzes the conversion of leukotriene A4 to leukotriene B4, a potent lipid mediator that acts as a chemoattractant, guiding immune cells to sites of inflammation and infection. LTA4H aminopeptidase activity further contributes to regulatory role in immune responses by processing peptide substrates. The human LTA4H gene encodes a protein consisting of 610 amino acids, and proper functioning is vital for maintaining immune homeostasis and responding effectively to pathogenic challenges.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390567 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
