LSAMP Antibody (Y-13A) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects LSAMP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LSAMP antibody (Y-13A) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. LSAMP protein, or limbic system-associated membrane protein, is a crucial neuronal surface glycoprotein predominantly located in the cortical and subcortical regions of the limbic system, where LSAMP is expressed on the surface of neuronal somata and proximal dendrites. As a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and part of the IgLON subfamily of cell adhesion molecules, LSAMP plays a significant role in the regulation of neurite outgrowth and the formation of neural circuits within limbic pathways, which are essential for emotional regulation and memory processing. LSAMP′s structure includes three immunoglobulin domains and a glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor, contributing to stability and function in cell adhesion. Notably, LSAMP exhibits a high degree of conservation between rodents and humans, with a 99% sequence identity, underscoring evolutionary importance. Furthermore, emerging research suggests that LSAMP may act as a tumor suppressor in renal carcinomas, highlighting potential relevance in cancer biology.
