SEE ALSO...

LRP5 Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LRP5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LRP5 Antibody (B-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LRP5 plays a crucial role as a Wnt coreceptor, facilitating the binding of Wnt ligands to their receptors and thereby regulating the canonical Wnt signaling pathway, which is essential for various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and bone development. LRP5 is expressed in the tibia of rats in regions associated with bone remodeling, highlighting its importance in skeletal health. Mutations in LRP5 can lead to the autosomal recessive disorder osteoporosis-pseudoglioma syndrome (OPPG), underscoring LRP5′s significance in maintaining bone mass and integrity. The gene encoding LRP5 is located on human chromosome 11q13.4, and unique structural features, including a distinct arrangement of epidermal growth factor-like and low-density lipoprotein receptor repeats, set LRP5 apart from other members of the low-density lipoprotein receptor gene family, which includes proteins such as LDLR, Megalin, and VLDLR.
