LRF Antibody (13E9) is an Arm. hamster monoclonal IgG antibody that detects LRF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). LRF (13E9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LRF protein, also known as leukemia/lymphoma related factor, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression and is involved in cell differentiation processes. LRF functions as a transcription factor containing a poxvirus zinc finger (POZ) domain, essential for protein-protein interactions, and Kruppel-type zinc fingers that facilitate DNA binding. This unique structure enables LRF to influence the transition from cellular proliferation to terminal differentiation, particularly during preadipocyte to adipocyte differentiation. LRF′s ability to associate with active chromatin and stimulate transcription of the HIV-1 long terminal repeat underscores its importance in both normal cellular functions and viral pathogenesis. Studies have shown that 3T3L1 cells stably overexpressing LRF exhibit reduced DNA synthesis and downregulation of key cell cycle regulators such as cyclin A, cyclin-dependent kinase 2, and p107, highlighting LRF′s significant role in modulating cell cycle progression and differentiation.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-33683 X be used instead of the standard form sc-33683?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
