LMX1B Antibody (1D12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects LMX1B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LMX1B antibody (1D12) is available as the non-conjugated form. LMX1B plays a crucial role in the development of various tissues, particularly in the formation of the glomerular basement membrane (GBM), which is essential for kidney function. LMX1B directly regulates the expression of collagen types alpha 3(IV) and alpha 4(IV), both of which are vital for maintaining the structural integrity of the GBM. Dysregulation of LMX1B can lead to significant renal pathology, including nephrosis, particularly in conditions such as nail-patella syndrome (NPS), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by skeletal anomalies and renal disease. LMX1B′s importance extends beyond renal health, as this protein is also involved in the development of the eye and the regulation of dopaminergic neurogenesis, linking LMX1B to conditions like developmental glaucoma and idiopathic Parkinson′s disease. With multifaceted roles in development and disease, LMX1B is a critical protein for understanding both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions.
