LIGHT Antibody (4E3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the LIGHT protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LIGHT antibody (4E3) is available as the non-conjugated format. LIGHT protein, also known as lymphotoxin-like inducible protein, plays a crucial role in immune regulation and is produced by activated T cells. LIGHT protein is a type II transmembrane protein that interacts with herpes virus entry mediator (HVEM), a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily. This interaction facilitates herpes simplex virus entry into T lymphocytes while influencing various immune responses. LIGHT protein competes with viral glycoprotein D for binding to HVEM, thereby modulating immune response to viral infections. LIGHT protein is closely related to lymphotoxin β and can bind to LTβ receptor, which is important for lymphoid organ development and function. LIGHT gene is located on human chromosome 19p13.3, highlighting relevance in both immune function and potential therapeutic applications in cancer and autoimmune diseases.
