Lidocaine Antibody (601) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Lidocaine protein of non-species reactive by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Lidocaine antibody (601) is available as the non-conjugated isotype antibody. Lidocaine, a widely used amino amide-type local anesthetic and Class Ib antiarrhythmic agent, plays a crucial role in medical procedures by providing effective pain relief and stabilizing cardiac rhythms. Its mechanism of action involves the blockade of fast sodium channels in the neuronal cell membrane, which alters depolarization and prevents the transmission of action potentials, leading to its anesthetic effects. Additionally, Lidocaine′s ability to decrease automaticity in cardiac tissues by reducing the slope of phase 0 depolarization is vital for managing arrhythmias, as Lidocaine does so with minimal impact on the PR interval, QRS complex, or QT interval. However, caution is warranted, as systemic exposure to high concentrations of Lidocaine can lead to adverse effects on the central nervous system and cardiovascular system. The metabolism of Lidocaine is primarily facilitated by the liver enzyme CYP1A2, which converts approximately 90 percent of Lidocaine into active metabolites, monoethylglycinexylidide and glycinexylidide, further influencing its pharmacological profile. With a molecular weight of 234.34 g/mol and a half-life of 1.5 to 2 hours, Lidocaine remains a critical component in both anesthetic and antiarrhythmic therapies.
