QUICK LINKS

Levopimaric Acid is a major constituent of pine oleoresin. Of all sources, 18 to 25% of the world′s Levopimaric Acid comes from pine oleoresin. As an abietane-type diterpene resin acid, Levopimaric Acid has antibacterial, cardiovascular, and antioxidant properties. Levopimaric Acid is extracted in an acetone reaction with longleaf pine oleoresin, followed by the addition of 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol. Levopimaric Acid is one of the principal resin acids in confer defense against insects and microbial pathogens.
