QUICK LINKS

Levocabastine is known to be a histamine H1 receptor antagonist and anti-allergic agent. This product′s potent and selective H1 receptor antagonist activity has been clinically applied as a topical treatment for seasonal allergic rhinitis. It is also seen as a treatment for allergic conjuctivitis especially in children. A suggested mode of action for levocabastine is its ability to inhibit the release of leukotriene C4 (sc-201046) relieving nasal obstruction for the case of allergic rhinitis. In addition, levocabastine has been observed to be a partial, low affinity neurotensin receptor (NTS2) agonist, but no anti-infammatory properties have been reported.
